Which Paris street-art neighbourhood should you choose?
The 13th arrondissement offers large façades; Belleville invites you to study walls at a different scale. Paris je t’aime includes these areas in its urban-art overview. Choose around your interest: standing back from a large composition or connecting smaller details with a street’s daily life. This is our visiting suggestion, not an official ranking.
If you are already in Le Marais, allow for the journey to another district. Keep our Marais route for its monuments and façades, then plan urban art as a separate outing. For northern Paris, our La Villette article distinguishes outdoor walks from temporary exhibitions.

How should you start on Boulevard Vincent-Auriol?
Locate the boulevard, then choose one façade visible from an open pavement. Our Boulevard Paris 13 article provides a starting point: Maye’s Étang de Thau at 131 Boulevard Vincent-Auriol, listed by the tourist office. Compare the reference with what is there before looking for other works.
Our walking method is simple: look at the composition, move closer only along public routes, then study a motif. Decide your turning point before setting out. A list of works can guide your curiosity; it does not measure walking time or the pauses you will want to take.

How can you look beyond taking a photograph?
Ask three questions: which shape do you notice first, how do colours direct your attention, and what difference does the building make? A work can look different from across a street or when moving from the whole image to one detail. Stop where others can pass.
Note a readable signature and check attribution with the artist, gallery or a cultural organisation. A familiar style is not enough to name an artist. With children, each person can pick a detail and explain what attracted them; our observation game suggests other ways to look together.
04
What should you check before setting out?
Choose an area, starting point and limit for your outing. Check the first work’s address in a current source; walls may be repainted and access can change. An exhibition in a gallery or hall has its own dates and arrangements: an old listing does not establish that it is open.
Download Street Whisperer to continue discovering nearby places and asking questions. New app stories need a connection; the app does not guarantee identification of every temporary mural. Keep the artist’s references for checking a particular work.
Your questions, answered.
Is this street-art outing part of the Marais walk?
No. These districts are separate outings. Allow extra time for travelling and stopping.
