Terms of Use — Street Whisperer

The service
Street Whisperer is a geolocated guide: it identifies places around you and generates their description using a language model. Narrations are produced automatically; despite care taken over their accuracy (cross-checked against encyclopedic sources, explicit admission when a place is poorly known), they may contain errors. Do not rely on them for critical practical information — opening hours, safety, access.
Accounts
Creating an account is optional; the app remains usable without one, within the anonymous tier's limits. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential. We may suspend an account in case of clearly abusive use of the service (circumventing usage limits, automation, reselling access).
Your chosen nickname is public in territory rankings. It must remain respectful and must not impersonate another person.
Usage limits
Without an account or with a free account: 7 guided visits and 7 messages, given once and never renewed. Creating an account transfers the anonymous session's exact consumption. After that, two options: a pack of 100 guided visits and 300 messages with no time limit, which can be bought again at any time, or the Flâneur subscription, which gives 600 guided visits and 600 messages per month, renewed monthly on the anniversary of the first sign-in, with no rollover. Flâneur's monthly credits are used first, then the free credits, then pack credits. In museum mode, each artwork presented uses one guided visit (reopening it within 24 hours costs nothing more) and each question about an artwork uses one message. Maps, previews and walks remain available. Rights and purchases are verified server-side with RevenueCat. Voice generation has a separate allowance proportional to permitted visits. These limits protect the service against disproportionate use.
A pack is a one-time purchase, not a subscription: its credits never expire and stay with your account on all your devices, so an account is required to buy one. It is neither refundable nor exchangeable outside the App Store or Google Play refund rules; a pack refunded by the store is removed from the balance, up to the credits left.
The Flâneur subscription is monthly and renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. The exact local price is shown by the App Store or Google Play before confirmation; the store account is charged at purchase and within 24 hours before each renewal. You can manage or cancel the subscription in your store's subscription settings, also linked from the app.
Ownership
Generated narrations are provided for personal discovery use. Factual data and media notably come from Wikipedia/Wikimedia and OpenStreetMap (ODbL). Available source links, authors and licences are shown in the app.
Territory "conquest" is a game mechanic and grants no real-world right over a place. A cell automatically changes technical owner when another person walks through it.

The service is provided "as is". We do not guarantee continuous availability, nor the complete accuracy of generated narrations.
