Lange Nacht der Münchner Museen: a walk in Munich

Before the evening, link Odeonsplatz, the Residenz area and Marienplatz. For more distant museums, keep the programme's transport options. This outdoor suggestion accompanies Lange Nacht der Münchner Museen. The official programme remains the reference for routes and open buildings.

Look at this

Compare the two lions, then the statues under the arches. Look along Ludwigstraße too, rather than limiting your stop to a frontal photograph.

05

What most people never learn

The square also bears the memory of the 1923 Nazi putsch. Distinguishing 19th-century royal architecture from later political uses adds context to the visit.
